Every little girl dreams of what her wedding day will be like and wants it to be a real life fairytale. Once they have found their prince charming and they have been proposed to the next important thing is planning the wedding. What does every princess need for her wedding? The perfect wedding dress! Finding just the perfect dress can be as exhausting as it can be exciting. Here are a few tips on how to find the perfect dress without stressing yourself out.

With budget in mind the first thing to consider is will you buy something directly off the rack or will you be able to afford something custom made to your liking. Once this has been decided its best to start your search at least six months in advance. This gives you plenty of time to compile a list of ideas and pictures of what you want for your own dress. If you are custom ordering your dress you may need even more time for alterations or to even receive the dress.Bridal magazines are a great place to look for ideas on the type of wedding dress you would like.

You will want to choose a style that is appropriate for your ceremony. Examples would be a floor length ivory, champagne or white dress for a formal evening wedding event. You can choose to add a train and gloves as an elegant touch. If you choose to have semi-formal wedding you may choose to go with the more common pastel colors which are floor touching length with possibly a short veil and no train. While others who aren’t following any type of theme may choose to wear a short or long dress with a veil and train or without. Pearls are often a lavishing touch to most dresses.

You will want to choose a size and shape that will help to flatter your body, after all it is your day and all eyes will be on you. When dress shopping take along an honest friend or family member who will not insult but be honest with you on how things look. While you want the dress to look amazing you also want to be comfortable so take that into consideration as well.

You can browse department stores for a wide array of dresses as well as more upscale stores for designer dresses. Once you have tried a few you will be able to choose what fits your budget. Its always smart to set a budget before hand and actually stick with it. While its easy to get wrapped up in the moment and you want your day to be special it will be something you only wear once. Also make sure to budget any alterations that may need to be made to your dress. This helps to keep down costs at the last minute.

While you may take others consideration into the type of dress you should buy or how much you spend ultimately its your decision and always choose what feels right to you.

Are you planning the wedding of your dreams but do not have the budget to cover everything? It is possible to have a lavish wedding without the cost. One mistake that many couples make is overspending for things that are not necessary. So if you are looking to have the wedding of a life time without the price tag here are a few things that you should avoid wasting money on.

Wedding Favors

Wedding favors are about as useless as it can get. It may be a nice way to say thank you to your guests or those who participated in planning your wedding but is there a real need for them? All the money that is spent on special card holders, silver bells, candy dishes, and other knickknacks normally go to waste. You spend money on these items and your friend accepts with a smile. But what about when they leave do you really think you will ever see that item again? Probably not!

If you must give a wedding favor then give something that is hand made or doesn’t cost you a ton of money. Create a recipe book, memory CD, or even a scrapbook. Keep it simple and it will be much more appreciated as well as easy on the wallet.

Huge Wedding Cakes

Is there a real need for a 6 foot wedding cake? Many couples spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars on a wedding cake that doesn’t even get eaten. If your looking to impress then hire a better cake decorator. Purchase a cake that is unique, charming, and one that will actually serve its purpose.

Too Many In The Wedding Party

Okay so no one wants to leave their sister, brother, best friend, or whoever else out of the wedding ceremony but is it necessary to have several bridesmaids and groomsmen? Not only will it become costly but it also starts to turn into a crowd instead of a small unity. Choose those who you really feel as though should be apart of your wedding and assign other important jobs to those who will feel left out otherwise.

This is just a few tips of the many on how you can save money when planning your wedding. Remember the more you save on the wedding the more you can splurge on for your honeymoon.

If you are ready to get married but don’t have a big budget there are ways to cut costs. First off you can choose to have your wedding on whats considered an off day. This will save you from overspending to try to fit your wedding into a over booked week. Also you may opt to have an outside wedding which would save you money as well. If you must have it inside buy the decorations yourself and have family or friends help with it to save money on hiring a coordinator.

If you are not able to cover the clothing expenses for an entire wedding party trying cutting down by not having a flower girl or ring bearer. Also you may opt to not have bridesmaids which will save you hundreds on their dresses and their escorts suits. For those who are having a smaller wedding party there really is no point in hiring ushers either since most people will sit where they want.

While live flowers are nice they can also be costly. If you plan on decorating with a variety of flowers why not go with silk ones. This will not only cut down on spending but you will also be able to save some as a keepsake from your wedding. There are many places that you can order silk flowers from with minimum shipping costs if ordered online.
Many choose to have a rehearsal dinner but is it really necessary? If you are able to cut down on the wedding party you can discuss where to sit and appropriate actions without really going out to dinner. Or as another option choose to cook the dinner yourself and save the money for more important things.

When purchasing anything from a vendor most prices are not set in stone so try to negotiate with them for a better price. While they may not agree with the price you want any type of price cut is worth the effort.

One thing that you can do to really cut costs is only serve non alcoholic drinks at your wedding. While most people think its a must have this really is something that will save you tons of money. The majority of people at weddings drink so without the option being there you will have pocketed money you can put towards your honeymoon. It may not only save you money but embarrassing moments from someone who’s had to much to drink as well.

This is just a few suggestions that can help you but for more information research and plan your wedding on what you really want not how others think your wedding should be.

What kind of games should you play at your bridal shower? Of course every party has their own ideas but there are several common ones that’s safe to go with no matter the ages that will be attending the shower.

Toilet Paper Wedding Dress

This game is played in teams or partners. You will need at least three people per team for it to be fun and effective. Each team will be given a roll of toilet paper and then they will be responsible for choosing a bride. Then the object of the game is for the team members to create the perfect wedding dress for their “bride” using the toilet paper. They will have a total of 20 minutes to do so. Then the team with the funniest and best wedding dress will be awarded prizes.

Scavenger Hunt

This game could be played in a couple different ways and could not only be fun but beneficial as well. If you are looking just to have fun you could compile a list of “wedding related items” and each person would have a certain amount of time to find as many as they could. Now if you need help preparing for the wedding this would be a great way to hand out jobs to those who are willing to giving a helping hand. You could break your list up into parts, create a budget and then assign equal jobs to those who are attending the shower. They would have a certain amount of time to purchase or arrange as many items as possible on their list within your set budget. The winners will then receive a nice gift basket or all participants could be given a small gift card of some kind.

This is just a couple ideas for bridal shower games. Other common games will include The clothespin game, Let’s Make A Deal, Who Am I, and guess the jelly beans.

If you are creative then this would be a good time to come up with a few of your own games. Make sure to have fun with it.
